This is a rare gem whose reality exceeds expectations Visited: March 2006 Posted by dana_whitsell March 8, 2006 we were married at Ottley's Plantation Inn, and we can't wait to return for our five-year anniversary! The grounds were beautiful, exquisitely groomed with a rain forest sitting directly on the property. The Plantation was not directly on the beach, but the privacy and seclusion was worth a 15-minute drive to the beach. A shuttle from Ottley's went to the beach daily and will take you and pick you up. However, if you want to do things on your schedule, I would recommend renting a car for a few days of your trip. The staff knew us by name the minute we got here, and we felt like we were at a family reunion rather than a hotel because we felt so at ease. We purchased a package deal and were so glad we did, we got a four-course delicious breakfast daily, brunch on Sunday, and three dinners with our five-night stay. The Royal Palm restaurant on site was some of the best food we have ever eaten. It was pricy, but worth every penny. The wedding was simple and carefree. All arrangements were made via e-mail prior to our arrival, and the locations to choose from were breathtaking. We were upgraded to a deluxe room when we arrived, and it was spacious and private - just delightful. This is a tropical garden, with great food, and a perfect getaway from the crowds Visited: December 2005 Posted by duegenti For someone looking to get away from the typical resort experience and cast of thousands, St. Kitts and Ottley's are the perfect choices. Ottley's offers fantastic food, wonderful personal hospitality, set in a beautiful tropical garden. It is very relaxing and refreshing. They also have a great spa, with one of the best massages! Also, hammocks are everywhere, begging for you to relax and enjoy the views of the rainforest, sugar cane fields, garden and ocean. Visited: December 2005 Posted by jscribner My wife and I visited Ottley's for our 20th anniversary. After deciding on St. Kitts as our destination, I found Ottley's online and booked a reservation. I never expected the facilities to be as pretty as they appeared online; I was wrong. Service was exceptional - as was the food. We stayed in the Great House and enjoyed ample privacy. The weather at this time of year was perfect, and we never needed air conditioning in the room. We enjoyed balmy, breezy nights and delightfully sunny days by the pool. We toured St. Kitts one day, and did some shopping in Basseterre another, but there really was no reason to leave the resort. Visited: April 2005 Posted by spot I had the most amazing vacation at Ottley's. The only bad part was leaving this paradise on earth. Our room was elegantly furnished, and it was so spacious that my husband and I decided we wanted to spend every day just luxuriating on the balcony together. The menu was original, and each meal was more delicious than the one before! We can't wait to return and will likely bring our closest friends so we can share our next experience. Ottley's Plantation is beautiful and accommodating for a perfect wedding/honeymoon. Karen, at Ottley's, planned a beautiful wedding that surpassed our expectations. Her expertise and that of an outstanding staff, provided a stress-free wedding and honeymoon. Also, the gourmet cuisine was outstanding, and the friendly service from each and every staff made our visit to St. Kitts one to remember. The grounds and accommodations were well groomed and beautifully furnished. It exceeded our expectations and fantasies on every count, and I can't emphasize enough the astounding beauty and outstanding accommodations at this property. The owners Marty, Nancy, and Karen truly made us feel welcome and a part of the Ottley family. Our every need was anticipated, and the service was the best we have encountered anywhere. Every single person at Ottley's was friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. We stayed in a Supreme Room in a cottage, with a private plunge pool. The room was large and magnificant, and the privacy was, again, the best we have ever experienced. This was our 15th wedding anniversary, so we were looking for privacy and romance. Ottley's provided this and more. The restaurant was first class, and we enjoyed every gourmet meal, and the side beach excursions arranged by the hotel were just the right amount of activity for second honeymooners. The Ottley's Plantation provided impeccable hospitality, cuisine - a private botanical paradise Visited: January 2003 Posted by johnjpolk A stay at Ottley's offers impeccable hospitality and cuisine amid a private botanical wonderland. The hospitality at Ottley's makes you feel that you're part of the Ottley's family. Art, Ruth, and Marty make a point of meeting with every guest. Every night they offer a four-course culinary masterpiece featuring local fish prepared in a style that draws on local flavors. The grounds offer spectacular vistas and a seemingly endless opportunity to explore and discover yet another specimen, plant or tree. Or one can simply relax in a net hammock in a private enclave provided by that same vegetation. The resort provides convenient, gratis transportation to nearby beaches that were virtually deserted during our stay. Or you can travel to Bassterre for an afternoon of shopping and dining. The drivers for these excursions seem handpicked with attention to their courtesy and eagerness to accommodate. During an island tour with an Ottley's provided driver, we noticed that other guides were soliciting information from our driver about points of interest on the tour. All in all, having been to many islands and having stayed at all manner of accommodations, Ottley's stands alone for providing individualized service in a lush, relaxed and relaxing hideaway. Visited: February 2002 Posted by monicah If you are young or older lovers, Ottleys is the most gorgeous, romantic, intimate place you could wish to be. My husband and I spent our honeymoon here. The tropical gardens and the rain forest are breathtaking, as are the views of the mountains and the ocean. If you would like to go to the beach, there are shuttles to nearby beautiful beaches. The staff and owners are happy, friendly people, who make every single person feel like a VIP without intruding on your privacy. The service and food are superb. The rooms are luxuriously furnished and very spacious. It was just beautiful and the staff was wonderful. Being off-beach was not a minus at all, because the grounds were gorgeous. We had great meals, also. The best resort featuring the finest meals in the Caribbean! Visited: December 2001 Posted by bjbrzostek We have been to Ottley's twice and can tell you it is one of the finest resorts in the Caribbean. King Arthur, family and staff will cater to your every need. It is the place to get away to when you want to recharge your batteries. The accommodations in the Great House are spectacular. The meals are the finest you can have anywhere on the planet. You don't get food like this back home. The staff is friendly and make you feel right at home. The pool setting amongst the old sugar barn is a picture postcard. You can do as much or as little as you like. We tend to do as little as possible. Relaxing, warm, welcoming and wonderful. Visited: October 2001 Posted by bonnie Relaxing, warm, welcoming and wonderful are just a few of the best words to describe Ottley's Plantation Inn. The rooms are very large and lovely and the owners and staff are friendly and helpful (including the owners' dogs who were happy to escort us along the rainforest trails). The food is outstanding and the grounds are beautiful. Thoughtfully placed hammocks and chairs allow guests to relax and enjoy spectacular views of the ocean, gardens and Mt. Liamuiga from dozens of locations. Maid service twice daily keeps the rooms spotless and filled with fresh towels. The pool is a wonderful feature, with crystal clear water, gorgeous views and an all-day pool bar.
