Amapola House was more than we expected.Visited: November 2008

As avid travelers, we've had the opportunity to stay in a great variety of accommodations- from five star hotels in the world's capitals, to quaint B&Bs in the French countryside. Every once in a while, we find the perfect combination of value, comfort, and a sophisticated design esthetic. Amapola House is just one of those places.
From the comfortable beds with luxury linen and the fully equipped kitchen (the wine cooler a winner!), to the plentiful hot water in the well laid-out bathrooms and the obvious care and detail of the décor. This vacation rental is tops!
Speaking of tops, the sunset terrace affords a beautiful view of the magnificent Puerto Rican sunsets. Achieve a state of utter relaxation as you enjoy a glass of wine in the rooftop Jacuzzi as the sky turns crimson red around you! It is amazing.
Needless to say, we highly recommend this fabulous vacation home.

During my stay here, everyone treated me with professionalism. They were able to assist me with some problems I encountered (which had nothing to do with the hotel).
I owe a special thank you to Yajaira, the manager, and all the staff who assisted us during our vacation.
If I return to Puerto Rico, this hotel is my number-one choice.

Blue Boy Inn was absolutely wonderful!Visited: June 2007

My friend and I stayed here for a week last June, and I am dying to go back. This bed and breakfast was beautiful, clean and better than what we could have ever expected.
It was a block from the beach, but secluded enough to feel as though we were really on a vacation!
Marc, the owner, designed all the furniture and paid attention to every last bit of detail. He is a wonderful person, and made us feel as if we were really at home. Also, his breakfast omelettes and crepes were "mmmmmmmm" delicious!
I recommend this place to anyone who is going to Rincon!

I recently won an auction for a three-day, and two-night stay at the Mayaguez Resort and Casino and was pleasantly surprised.
The accommodations were very nice, clean and tastefully furnished; and the property was well maintained.
My only complaint was that the River Pool was still under construction and we were not able to experience it (it was supposed to be completed by January 2007, but it still has a long way to go before construction is complete).
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

I stayed here with my wife, two-year old son, and my in-laws. We stayed in a 2two-bedroom apartment, which served us very well. Although the place was a little dated and rough around the edges(yet well maintained), it was totally functional and adequate.
The place was right on the beach, and very peaceful and quiet. We went to bed and woke up to the muffled roar of the ocean, which was very soothing.
For $125 per night, we got a two-bedroom apartment with living room, full kitchen with dining table, one bedroom with a full, and the other with two twins. There was also AC in the rooms, a huge front porch with table and chairs, direct beach access, and great front desk service.
In addition, there was a nice adult pool and kiddie pool, a great children's playground, game room, plenty of shade, and complimentary coffee in the morning.
We needed help with a remote that wasn't working, and the member of maintenance was at our unit in less than ten minutes! And when we needed extra towels, they were delivered in about 15 minutes.

We love this hotel. The sunsets are amazing here. The hotel staff is wonderful.
This was our third trip back. My kids love it here. The rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast that is included in your stay is a bonus. My husband is a surfer, and it is perfect for a family.

The place to stay in Rincon, Puerto Rico!Visited: April 2006

We recently spent eight nights this past Easter at this wonderful location. Six of us stayed in the newly remodeled downstairs, three- bedroom unit, and the other three stayed in the recently remodeled upstairs two-bedroom "owners unit". We were three adults and six 16- and 17-year-olds.
This was an outstanding place. It had everything we needed. The outdoor yard was so beautiful, and it included a covered area with a pool table, dart board, and picnic table/Bar-B-Q. It was great for the teens to keep busy at night.
Three of the best surfing beaches were accessible by foot just down a path - eliminating always needing a ride and giving the "kids" some independance. The Puntas Bakery was a short walk up the block for snacks and things.
Also, the view was incredible - especially from the upper "owners unit". The surfboard racks were a great perk - keeping the space clear. This was our second surfing vacation in Rincon, and we feel that we have found the perfect spot.
The owner provided us with the number for Carlos at Rincon Tours. He was great to have to and from the airport when traveling with surfboards - otherwise we never would have been able to transport all of us and the bags in two rental cars.
In writing this, my only apprehenshion is that we are telling a great "secret" and we might lose out when we want to go next year!

The El Mirador Guesthouse was exactly what we needed! Perched on the hill overlooking the El Faro lighthouse, El Mirador was an extremely spacious guesthouse with excellent rates. The place was very clean and well maintained - inside and out. Also, the "vibe" was very tropical.
Stuart, the owner, took care of everything in a warm and welcoming fashion from start to finish. Every morning, we checked the surf at three different spots from the kitchen and front balcony. At night, we cooked and relaxed in the lush tropical backyard. We hosted a BBQ, played pool, and soaked in the comforts.
We highly recommend El Mirador Guesthouse to couples and families alike. We can't wait to go back.

Pools Beach Cabanas boasts an excellent location and incredible surf.Visited: April 2006

Pools Beach Cabanas is right across from Pools Beach, which is one of the many wonderful beaches in Rincon. The main deal is surfing, but if you have kids, they will go crazy for this place and this beach.
Pools Beach Cabanas are in a little complex/compound with a pool, bar, grille and a beach right across the street, including modest/easy snorkeling, excellent rocks to climb, and beautiful warm water. There are some waves, but they are not overly current-y.
Then take a five-minute walk to Sandy Beach where there is lots of sand, a great bar, and a more active atmosphere. Also, within an extremely easy drive are many, many more beaches for surfing, exploring, each with their own special character.
Keep in mind that Pools Beach Cabanas are not like a traditional hotel, not very fancy. They are comfortable, a great value, with extremely nice owners/hosts and exceptional environs.
The restaurants in and around the Rincon beaches are great. There are several that stand out. Number one: Pools Beach! What a delightful surprise to find the outdoor bar and grill at Pools had a great cook whose name is Mike, and a lovely pool. So, parents and kids can relax and enjoy.
Saturday night is big party night at Pools. The owner and his friends set up a ‘half-pipe’ and show surfer and skateboard movies. The parents have a great time, but still the kids can sleep soundly in the cabanas while all this is going on.
I’d also recommend Black Eagle “the Spot” . They serve the best tuna I’ve ever had. Also, I suggest eating at Shipwreck – incredible seafood salad. In addition, the Lazy Parrot is very good and has an exceptional setting. For more traditional Puerto Rican fare – and a certain authenticity (old guys hanging out every day at the taxi stand) – go to “413”. It is an inexpensive stop-in store for pastries and breakfast.

We were lucky enough to find this little slice of paradise in Rincon, PR.
The accommodations were excellent, clean and very well maintained. The view was spectacular. Every evening on our balcony, we had an array of colors created by the sun setting over the offshore island.
The location was also great for getting to all the nightlife and restaurants in and around Rincon.
I would definitely recommend El Mirador Guesthouse for anyone wanting to experience a location in paradise.

What you seek in a vacation is all here.
They have a great location, with a super ocean view. The accommodations are clean and contemporary, secure and quiet, and it is affordable. They also have a great enclosed pool table where you can end each day - surfed out and happy!
There is no other choice in the area that comes close to satisfying that all-important need in your trip planning. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

Rincon Beach was nice looking, clean, and comfortable.Visited: January 2006

My boyfriend and I just came back from Rincon. We liked the hotel.
The grounds were clean and well-kept. The room (we stayed in 554) was also clean, and nice-looking. Our only complaint? No full-length mirror! We asked if we could be moved to a room that had one, but were told no rooms had them.
The pool area was also clean, and nice looking. The only food we ate from the resort was by the pool (my boyfriend had a burger, I had a salad) and breakfast one of the days (we both had cereal with fruit). The poolside food was not terrible, but it was not great.
One other thing that was less than perfect was having to hand in your towel cards every time you wanted a towel for the pool/beach. That was the same with the business center - any time you wanted to use it, you needed to stop by the front desk so they could give you an access card. I understand the reasoning behind this, but it was still a little annoying.
Overall, though, if we were to go back to Rincon, we would definitely consider staying here again.
