This is great for people who have too much money. Visited: February 2006

The Four Seasons at Nevis is, on the one hand, a very decent, even fine, resort located on the seashore in a very well kept and lush plant environment.

On the other hand, it would need to be completely perfect in order to justify the four-figure room rates, and that it is not. Its style and property is in the same league with other fine resorts, such as the Divi Little Bay at St. Maarten, where, however, we stayed at about 1/3 the price. So do your shopping.

Both places are all-inclusive with fine beaches, meals, transportation, program activities and much more. Even with the four-figure-per-night tab, basics such as in-room coffee are not provided; our welcoming snack arrived at 6:00 pm as we were leaving the room for dinner; and our bed turn down was offered at 10:00 pm.

Also, when we called to report an infestation of ants in our room, there was no response we were aware of during our stay - or after.

Still, the setting is truly beautiful; the staff is friendly; and the grounds are well kept and provide a variety of activities (many of which for which you will be charged extra).

So enjoy - but do your comparisons and shopping well, and just know what you are getting into.

Whilst the grounds were beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful, my wife and I were sadly dissapointed. We were expecting unspoilt Caribbean beauty of days gone by. What we found was a resort that resembled Miami Beach circa 2004. Had we not known we were in Nevis, it could have been any flash resort in tropical climes.

The food was good, but we found the prices inflated, and the portions deflated. The beach was lovely, and the colour of the sky and sea left us gobsmacked. The golf course was very well designed, however a bit brown and rough...fair play though this is their busiest time of the year, and the driest part of the season.

We loved Nevis so much that we decided to stay an extra week, however we changed our address to The Nisbet Plantation. We found this to be much more to our taste.

All said and done we will definitely back to Nevis but not the four seasons - full stop! If you like large American style resorts, full of people with hordes of money and very little culture, you might enjoy this resort. It reminded us of Blackpool with more money and glitter.

Unfortunaetly we should have used the Internet mor before out travels, we found a delightful web site about Nevis that would have helped us not to choose a resort like the four seasons. Nevis1.com has wonderful information about Nevis....alas water under the bridge for us this year, but we will be using it for our next holiday to be sure.

One final note, if you stay at the four seasons, be sure to explore the rest of Nevis, we found much better food at other resorts such as Nisbet, Plantation, Golden Rock and Montpelier.

Cheers, James and Sheila

This was the best resort we have ever stayed in. Visited: September 2003

Four Seasons Nevis is self contained and totally eliminates any desire or need to go off property. The staff is superb in all respects - from greeters to service staff to gardners. They make you feel more like you're visiting your Granny's house than staying at a hotel!

Service and amenities are perfectly presented, your every need is anticipated and made available virtually instantly. Activities are quite varied and entertainment is superb. Also, the grounds are enchanting, and meticulously kept.

The golf course and staff at the pro shop are first class. The spa is great, and the restaurants fully deserve the Five Diamond ratings. (They have a very nice wine list, too.)

All in all, this is one of the most enjoyable escapes we have ever experienced. So good, that we're booking a return in 2004! We can't recommend it highly enough. As a baseline for comparison, we have lived in Hawaii and visited/vacationed on all of the islands, vacationed in the Caribbean, Europe, the Far East and the Middle East.

My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon and all I need to say is "wow!". The service, employees and food were all wonderful. The only downside was that we had to leave.

Forget any other place in the islands. This is it. If you are going to play golf, it was on the same par as Bethpage Black without the wait.

The beach was amazing. My wife and I would snorkel every day and see amazing marine life right in front of the hotel. The food was as good as any I have had in my life. It was expensive, but you only live once.

This was, without a doubt, the best resort my wife and I have ever stayed at. Book now. Book right now.

We celebrated our 20th anniversary here. Everything about the resort was wonderful.

The food was exceptional, the golf (and we are not golfers) was incredible, the spa was wonderful, the monkeys and crickets were unbelievable and the service was not to be matched. You could not ask for more.

If you are looking for a beautiful place to relax, experience great food and service, and meet some of the friendliest people, this is the place for you.

We arrived by water taxi, and were met on the dock by one of the resort's employees who gave us a brief tour of the property, and showed us to our room. Waiting in the room was a complimentary snack and an invitation to a manager's cocktail reception for Monday.

On our first night we decided to try the seafood buffet - I'm glad we did. There was plenty of delicious lobster, oysters, shrimp and many other items to choose from. As it turned out, we ate at the buffet three times during our stay.

The other four dinners we had were at the dining room which also was excellent. I guess my favorite meal there was the beef tenderloin, it was prepared perfectly. Lunch was also very good during our stay, as was breakfast.

Enough about food, let's get to the pool. When we arrived at the pool, we were greeted by one of the pool attendants with towels in hand.

The attendant first wrapped our chairs with two towels, and the other was left neatly rolled on the chair, then we were offered a glass of ice water. Then, came the mint towels and the Evian spritzers - what a nice touch!

The golf was excellent, and the views were spectacular. Make sure you say hello to the monkeys on the 15th fairway. While I played golf, my wife decided to go to the spa. She said it was beautiful. She stayed for three hours every time she went. It must have been good.

Last but not least, the service here was excellent. The people were so nice and were always willing to accommodate any request.

Here is an example of a what to expect from the service here: One morning I woke to a fire alarm from the building across from ours. I called the front desk to insure they were aware, and that everything was okay, they informed me it was a false alarm.

We left our room that morning to spend the day at the pool. Waiting in our room when we returned from a day at the pool, was a chilled bottle of champagne and two glasses, along with a card apologizing for the alarm. This place really knows what service is about.

Some people may say the Four Seasons is expensive, but I say you get what you pay for. We will return.

It was a perfect vacation. Visited: July 2003

From the moment Four Seasons had contact with us, they made our experience a real vacation. Every single whim or need was met. This hotel had every thing we could ever need, and a week was not enough time to try everything!

The grounds and lobby were beautiful, as were the rooms and facilities. All were beautifully decorated.

But what actually took this resort to the next level was the service. After our week here, we truly felt like these people knew us inside and out. They knew our likes and dislikes and made suggestions for us.

Nevisians were welcoming and warm. The weather was beautiful. Also, the golf course and spa were both "tens". There was a good balance of honeymooners, families, and groups here. It was neither too noisy nor too quiet.

The only negatives were the time spent traveling to get here, and the fact that it was expensive. But, you get every penny's worth!

Four Seasons was extremely pleasing. Visited: June 2003

My wife and I were married here on the Ocean Lawn of the 18th green at sunset. We had a ten-day stay on the Romance Package; which was well worth it.

The resort staff handled our ceremony and dinner on the beach for about 20 flawlessly.

We found the food to be delicious with a wide range of choices, and the portions quite ample. We would recommend the meal plans as the prices can add up. Don't pass up going to Sunshines for lunch or dinner (just at the end of the beach). The food was great and, of course, the Killer Bees lived up to their reputation.

We had an oceanview room and it was quite spacious. The mountain view rooms had pleasant views also. Housekeeping service was great, with plenty of huge towels, fantastic pillows.

For the golfers, the Pro Shop staff was very friendly, and the course had some stunning views of the resort and beach areas from high up. Monkeys, goats, donkeys, and horses could been seen wandering about on several holes.

The Spa was very nice with a wide range of treatments and services, but could fill up. We would recommend making your appointment as soon as you can.

The resort offered plenty of activities, but never forced them on you. A simple call or visit to the concierge handled everything.

In summary, we were just a little curious how the resort would be, as our expectations were high. We were not disappointed.

My fiance and I were extremely grateful to have vacationed at the Four Seasons Resort in Nevis. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, we were truly treated like royality here.

We are getting married in October 2003, however it was like a pre-honeymoon for us. It was definitely a place to fall in love with, as well as fall in love with each other all over again, as we did.

Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful to us. It will surely be a place that we would like to visit again and again.

We both would highly suggest snorkeling, as well as taking the historical tour of the island. It was all breathtaking, so bring lots of film!!!!

Thank you for taking such wonderful pride in your customer service, as well as all of your facilities.

My wife and I, and our two kids (ages nine and six), just came back. This place was amazing.

There was plenty to do for everybody, but yet it was the most peaceful and relaxing place I've ever been.

The grounds were second to none and the people, both who worked at the resort and just lived on the island, were the nicest people around.

It was expensive, but i was money well spent.

My partner of 18 years and I arrived with the intent of staying for only six nights and ended up staying ten.

As we were told by one of the managers who took the time to chat with us over cocktails in their beautiful lobby, Four Seasons will only put a five-star hotel in a five-star location. That should say it all.

Being off season, we found ourselves to be the only guests on the beach for days in a row. The pools were slightly more crowded, but still serene and beautiful.

The service was impeccable as we were greeted by name everywhere we went. I recall one special moment when I was working out on a treadmill in their well-equipped gym. I was trudging away when all of sudden a cold drink and cool towel appeared by the most gracious and unobtrusive staff member to the point where I was grateful without missing a beat in my workout.

The dining was wonderful, whether it was room service on our terrace, lunch at the beach bar or dinner in the dining room.
It was so magical, we are already planning out 20th anniversary celebration here next year.

We traveled from the UK with our 3-year-old and 5-month-old. We had one of the best holidays you could ever wish to have.

The resort and its facilities were fantastic. Our oceanview room was lovely - it had the most amazing views. The staff at the resort was the friendliest group of people you could ever wish to meet, right through from the cleaning lady to the management team. We just totally relaxed, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We would truly recommend visiting this magical place. We would definitely have no hesitation in going back again and again.

My three year old - Joshua - would like to say a big thank you to Martha and Marsella who looked after him in the kids club . He is still talking about the wonderful time he had on holiday.

We enjoyed a pampered honeymoon. Visited: July 2002

My husband and I visited the Four Seasons Nevis on our honeymoon and we couldn't have been more pleased. From the time we landed in St. Kitts and checked into the resort right at the airport, we had no more worries or concerns. Everything was taken care of for us.

We were greeted at the dock by a member of the staff who took us to our beautiful room. The room, balcony, and bathroom were enormous. We had an oceanview room, but the golf course and Mount Nevis were so gorgeous that I'm sure the mountainview room was as spectacular.

The "romance package" was perfect. A few activities were included, so we didn't have to think about what we wanted to do. Breakfast and dinner were some of the best we had ever eaten - we looked forward to dinner in the dining room every night. The specials changed daily and the head chef was always willing to make a substitution.

As honeymooners, we were invited on a complimentary sunset cruise with other honeymooners at the resort. We made some great friends who we still keep in touch with.

The lounge chairs at the pool and beach were beyond belief. They were so comfortable you could sleep there all day, only to be awakened by a staff member offering a cool glass of water or an Evian spritz.

There were a lot of kids at the resort, but if you keep to the beach, you'll never even see (or hear) them.

Don't forget to enjoy the rum punch, chocolate souffle with vanilla sauce, the 15th hole, the lobster pizza for lunch, and a great massage!

We took the launch from St. Kitts to start our vacation. We felt like we were entering Fantasy Island. The volcano was beautiful with the clouds that surrounded it.

The Four Seasons was a great way to lay out by the pool, play golf, and eat great food. We decided not to rent a car but just to enjoy the Four Seasons. We did venture out to the horse races, and it was fun. The islands roads were in bad shape and it would be wise not to rent a car.

Next to the the resort, you will find "Sunshines", known for their Killer Bee rum drinks. Get the Lobster for lunch every day and you will be happy! We did the meal plan for breakfast and dinner. The food was exceptional.

The resort was expensive and it took a day to get there from any major destination. Enjoy the resort and on the way home, fly to the Ritz in San Juan and stay one night to break up the trip. It was fantastic!

The service was incredible! If you enjoy the best service money can buy, you won't be disappointed. From the moment you arrive St. Kitts, you will experience some of the best money can buy.

The rooms are large and pretty (though not necessarily Caribbean-style). The grounds are the best we've seen. The food is very good. Although I would not recommend the food plans, as there are many off property options.

The beach is very nice and the pools are fantastic. One of the reasons we chose this property was so that our eight-year-old could be assured of having a good time too. She loved it! There is lots for kids to see, do and experience.

It's definitely not the easiest spot in the Caribbean to get to, but it sure is worth it once you do!

I cannot say enough about the Four Seasons Resort, the staff or Nevis. This was the best resort my husband and I ever stayed at, and we travel often.

The only thing bad about Nevis is that it has spoiled us for any other place. There is no resort that compares to the Nevis Four Seasons. They pamper you from the airport to the moment you sadly board the plane to come home.

The absolute best place to be. Visited: July 2001

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon in the Caribbean and decided to spend a week and a half at the Four Seasons (with 3 days on the way home at the Ritz in San Juan).

Wow! The resort was everything we had hoped for and more (even more then these seasoned travelers could have imagined).

We were greeted with personal staff at the airport in St. Kitts, and then again after taking the private launch from St. Kits to the island of Nevis and the resort. From the moment we got there, we were made to feel like we could leave our worries behind.

Upon check in, the staff realized the late hour of the day and offered immediately to make dinner reservations for us (as well as give us cold washclothes to cool off with). We ate at the more casual restaurant that evening on the deck and I had the best lobster ever (ah the spiny lobster). After such an exhausting flight, it was nice to have a relaxing, incredibly scrumptious meal.

Our room had a beautiful view of the beach and the water. It was clean and decorated in soft pastels. The marble bathroom was luxurious and the soaking tub and glass shower could not be beat.

We were able to eat wonderful breakfasts each morning on our screened balcony and, after breakfast, it was off to the pool. The pool staff cannot go unnoticed (as well as anyone who worked at the Four Seasons in Nevis). These folks were so nice and worked very hard to make sure we had everything we needed. The cold washcloths and Evian sprays will be missed as well as the frozen grapes, popsicles and delicious lunches poolside.

We ate in all the restaurants, dinner every night in the Dining Room which compared to any high end restaurant in NY, and we were not disappointed. The food was above and beyond our expectations.

No, the prices were not cheap but, as my wife said, "You get what you pay for". As it was our honeymoon, we made sure to splurge every chance we got.

I can't say enough about our stay at the Four Seasons Resort. From the ambiance and the staff, to the golfing, the gym facilities, and the massages (on the beach no less), this resort made our honeymoon unbeatable.

If you have been here, you will undoubtedly want to return in the near future. If you have never been, you have to go. Just one visit here and you will be hooked.

ONE COMPLAINT: The resport had two pools - one of which had a children's area. Why is it that, when adults without children (who make up most of the guests) want to escape the little darlings and head to the other pool without the children's area that people see fit to interupt that area with their kids?

We traveled from California (no mean task) with our 3-year-old. We were taken care of from the moment the plane touched down on St.Kitts to the time we flew out again.

We were taken care of by the friendliest of staff, from the cleaning lady to the management. Our 3-year-old was treated like a little princess (we are still trying to get her over that though), and the childrens facilities and baby sitting service for her were great.

We enjoyed massages, golf, beach toys (for the big and small), the gym, wonderful food and a great atmosphere.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at The Four Seasons, just prior to the hurricane. Every detail, from the gorgeous rooms (disguised behind unassuming exteriors) the poolside beach, the friendly service, and OUTSTANDING food was unforgettable! Even the staff on the golf course was first class, traveling with an Evian spritzer and ice-cold towels! We fell in love with the resort and hope to spend an anniversary there!
