Close to transportation, shops and historic areas Visited: August 2001 Posted by aroundtheworld98 My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel L'Imperatrice for 5 days. The hotel is very basic, but clean. The cost for a room is between 350F-420F and a simple breakfast of croissants, juice/coffee and fruit is included. There is a restaurant and cafe/bar at this hotel. It's close to taxis and is in the heart of town where there are many shops, markets etc. If you don't know French, please carry a phrase book so at least you can get by. (We didn't come across anyone speaking English fluently.) Fort de France isn't safe to walk around at night if you're by yourself so be careful after dark.
