We stayed here, and had a superb stay.
The grounds were well kept, the oceanic view was impeccable, the rooms were immaculate, and the staff was very friendly.
We are definitely spending another vacation here in a few months. Hats off to the management!

The Hibiscus Lodge is the only place to get married in Jamaica.
My wife (who is from Canada) and I (from England) got married here, and so far have sent numerous people here.
We sent them here because all our challenges were met by the staff, with a friendly Jamaican 'no problem man'. Mr Dodswold was an extremely charming host and an excellent cook.
The view was past breathtaking. My only regret is that I don't have sufficient dollars yet to buy the place. I intend to return to celebrate my 15th, 20th and 25th wedding anniversaries.
This is one very happy guest!

The view and the grounds were picturesque. Also, the rooms were quaint.
Almond Tree was very expensive. A sandwich was $10.00, but the breakfast was excellent.
The was a phone in lobby only. It would not be safe to walk outside of property at night. We had to pay guys to leave us alone. My kids were asked if they wanted to buy weed or knives, etc.! We were glad to get a pizza and get back safely.
The hot tub was way too hot, and the pool was too cold for kids. We left early and went back to the Holiday Inn all-inclusive.
The Hibiscus Lodge would be a great place for rich honeymooners or couples only, but not for people with kids.

I started visiting this hotel in 2005, and I have been here four times. I can't get enough. The scenery is breathtaking. The view of the Caribbean sea is a plus. Also, the rooms are intricately decorated.
The staff is freindly and helpful. I was impressed with the staff at Almond Tree Restaurant. Also, the idea of a swinging bar is very innovative.
I am definitely going back. This is a very nice place for romance and relaxation.

I had stayed in this hotel several times since the 1950s and it has always been a wonderful experience. I brought my two children and second husband here this time, and it lived up to every expectation.
The the food was fabulous, the rooms were more than adequate, and the grounds were beautiful. This was a true haven in Jamaica.
In fact, I only had two criticisms. The quality of the house wine was dreadful. Please put Georges deBoeuf (on your wine list) as the house wine. Secondly, the staff was very nice but not very helpful, and this was sometimes almost discourteous.
But, we loved every minute here. Thank you for making a dream come true.

I thought this was an excellent hotel. It provided us with a great look out onto the Caribbean Ocean, and it was not too far from the beach.
We could enjoy the peace and quiet of our stay at the hotel, and then go right out into the street for a taste of the Jamaican city of Ocho Rios!
I gave the hotel four stars because the only thing that it was missing, were in-room phones.

I thought that this was an excellent hotel. It provided you with a great look out onto the Carribean Ocean, and it was not too far from the beach. We are probably the most repeat guests at Hibiscus Lodge. From 1986 to the present, we have averaged a "two times a year" stay. We are like family and meet again and again with other repeaters.
No matter where you go, in the Caribbean, you will not find a more beautiful spot. We know the entire staff on a first name basis. And being that there are only 26 rooms, everybody gets to know everybody else. Relationships ae formed with people all over the world and kept up after vacation time is over.
If you don't stay at the hotel and are in Ocho Rios, try The Almond Tree Restaurant---chef owned and part of the same facility. We shall return!

The Hibiscus Lodge is a little gem.Visited: December 2003

This a great little place - we split our stay in Ocho Rios between Reniassance and the Hibiscus and would highly recommend this place.
The rooms are nice and clean with great views. They also have very nice staff, and the breakfast is a treat sitting at the Almond Tree restaurant with a fabulous view, great service and awesome food.
The staff will call recommended cabbies to take you around if you need it - we reccommend Trevor, a very nice guy took us up to Evita's (a great restaurant) and then came back for us an hour and a half later.
The hotel is close to downtown. It is a very nice place away from the all-inclusives

A group of us stayed at the Hibiscus Lodge in June 2003, and it was beautiful. The entrance with the polished cedar was incredible, the rooms were nice, the view was just perfect, the pool was good, and the staff was wonderful. I intend to return here, and tell others about the Hibiscus Lodge Hotel.

I just loved the Hibiscus Lodge. The rooms were spotless with wood beam ceilings and lots of space for your stuff. The balconies were a good size and nicely done with appropriate furniture. The windows were louvered and the televisions worked great.
The staff was courteous and very helpful. There was great security. The grounds were absolutely beautiful! There were sometimes wedding receptions and other events held right in the grounds. If you wanted to snorkel, Kevin, down by the pool could take care of you. He will take you out for only $10. He could take you on a sailing trip as well. He was a very nice fellow.
The architecture of this hotel was also really nice. I will stay here again.

My stay in Hibiscus Lodge was very pleasant. The surrounding garden was beautiful and very well groomed, creating a feeling of tranquility.
I throughly enjoyed the breakfast and admired the wide selection of food. The staff was courteous and helpful.
I would recommend the Hibiscus Lodge to anyone and would certainly visit again. However, I find it unsuitable for families with small childen due to the lack of a sandy beach.

This was a hidden jewel.
We went to Bip-Bips Restaurant, a little way down the street. It was something special.
Most rooms had beautiful vista views. The grounds were beautiful, and the place felt like a romantic oasis. For the price, you cannot beat it.

I visit Jamaica three times each year and stay at the Hibiscus Lodge Hotel for at least one week each time.
Be sure to request rooms 16 or 17. There is no better view on the island.
Is it safe? You will have no problems here.
The Almond Tree Restaurant is better than advertised. Everything on the menu is superb!
If you visit the Hibiscus just once, you will never forget the experience.

I had my wedding dinner at Almond Tree Restaurant, and honeymoon here in '98. I continue to visit 2-4 times a year and I think that it should be voted, “The Best Small Inn in Jamaica.” It’s very quiet, and romantic. Also, it’s also very safe!

This hotel is set on a cliff top. The rooms are distributed in small blocks set in tropical gardens. The superior rooms (with air conditioning) are worth the extra money.
There’s a smallish pool and no beach. This hotel is not really suited to those with small children.
The restaurant is top class; dinner is served on an outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean. Security is taken very seriously and we felt safe enough. Excursions to Dunn’s River Falls and the Blue Mountains are worthwhile.
