The Sea View was a very basic, but inexpensive hotel just off downtown Road Town. Its rooms were clean but noisy. A vigorous rooster crowed off and on all night long, and traffic noise from the main island road roared by all night long just beneath the window.
It was a functional - but not great - room. |

A low cost, very basic clean room near ferries. Visited: October 2001 |

This is a low cost ($76 low season for an air conditioned room without television or phone) old and very basic hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning worked and there was also a ceiling fan.
The check-in person was pleasant and the person gave good information on places to eat. I stayed here due to it being close to the Road Town Ferry terminal (a 3- to 5-minute walk) and because the room prices were low.
The hotel restaurant and bar, along with many other locations on Tortola and nearby Virgin Gorda, were closed due to very few tourists being on-island. The food at the nearby Pub was okay but the food at Pussers (a 5-minute walk) was better and less expensive.
The hotel pool was small and quite clean but not pristine. The only people I saw in the pool was one couple from mainland Europe who was doing laps. The pool seemed too small to do real laps; they were doing a tumble turn, a couple of strokes, and tumble turn and so on.
I would stay here again or pay a little more and stay somewhere else with a full sea view.

| If you are visiting the British Virgin Islands and want to stay within walking distance of Road Town, and all of the island activity of this BVI capital city, the Sea View is recommended. Overlooking Road Harbor and the Sir Francis Drake Channel,... |
